A CLEANING expert has revealed that the way you’ve been moping your floors has been leaving them absolutely dirty.
In fact, you need to be doing the “double-dunk” system as it will ensure that they are left spotless.
Danielle Christina, who goes by Mom That Loves to Clean on social media, shared in a video that she much prefers the double-dunk system compared to the two-bucket one.
The two-bucket system is when you have one bucket with cleaning solution and water and a second one with just clean water.
With this method, you will dump your mop in the one with the solution, clean the floor, and then do it again with just plain water.
However, she claimed that with this method, you can never get enough water in your mop, which means it won’t clean as efficiently.

Instead, the double-dunk system works “much better.”
“I dump it in the clean water [bucket] and then in the [bucket with the] solution, mop, and repeat,” she explained.
“Look how clean and shiny it leaves my floors and check out all that dirty water at the bottom of the bucket.”
Following her posting her video, people gushed about how much it worked for them.

And if you don’t have two buckets or simply don’t want to take up too much space, a third woman revealed you can use your sink as one of the buckets.
Previously, professional cleaner Vanesa Amaro posted a video revealing the cleaning mistake you might be making thanks to social media.
When it comes to washing your floors, the cleaning method you use depends on the kind of floor you have.
Amaro broke down the rules, explaining that if you have laminate, vinyl, or even wood floors, you should not use boiling water to clean them.
Though it might make them look cleaner, she said it’s not a beneficial cleaning method.

“In the long run, you will ruin your floors,” she said.
Instead of using boiling water, she said to properly clean wood floors, you should use Bruce Hardwood Floor Cleaner, which can be bought on Amazon for about $15.
