You need to clean your air vent filters so you’re not breathing dust – it’s super easy to do
IT’S important to ensure that our homes are dust and grime free.
But many of us forget to clean certain areas even though they are prone to dirt collection.
One woman on TikTok, cleaning expert @Neat.Caroline, said there are five places that we must address regularly.
In the clip, she began: “Here’s how to clean some of the dirties places in your home.”
First, she looked to her washing machine and lifted the rubber protection that boarders the inside.
“To clean and remove mildew from your washing machine basket, spray down the inside with hot soapy water,” she said.
“Then wipe it dry with a rag.”
Her second tip is even more crucial for those with allergies.

“Replace your HVAC filters to prevent dust and allergens from circulating into your home.”
Carolina advised her viewers to do this every three months.
Next, she moved on to the kitchen.
“Check on your dishwasher filter every few months.
“Run it under warm, soapy water with a clean toothbrush.”
Scrubbing it down this way will help remove the sticky residue.
As for your bathroom: “Remove soap scum and mold from your showerhead by soaking it in a bag of vinegar for a few hours.”
She did this by filling up a large Ziploc bag with vinegar, placing it around the showerhead, and securing it shut with a rubber band.
If your shower head is brass or nickel, she said you should only soak it for 30 minutes.
And her last tip addressed a surface we touch daily, but rarely clean:
“Wipe down light switches with a spray of equal parts rubbing alcohol and water.”
Her viewers, as always, praised her for the tips:
“Lifesaver! Please keep telling me what to do,” one person wrote.
“I never knew dishwasher even had a filter,” added another.
