You’ve been making tacos all wrong – the right way means you don’t need to buy hard shells anymore
THERE’S no need to go to the store if you run out of hard shells for taco night anymore.
One woman shared how she makes a hard shell taco from a plain tortilla – and it only took her a minute.
A woman has shared her taco hack on social media[/caption] She demonstrated how to take a soft tortilla and transform it into a hard shell[/caption]Janice Emily revealed you can use your toaster to make hard shell tacos.
In the TikTok clip, she folded the tortilla and placed it in the toaster, making sure to keep a grip on both ends.
After a few minutes, her soft tortilla had transformed into a hard shell.
Following the post, many were eager to go try the taco hack for themselves.
One person wrote: “I’m gonna use this to impress my kid. He will think I’m a chef!”
A second said: “Be right back, I must go try this.”

However, others were less excited and more concerned this hack could start a fire.
“It could start a fire in your home too,” said a third.
Previously, another master in the kitchen made her own transformation from taco chips into ‘the best’ stuffed shell recipe.
She said that even though she was late to the taco chip trend, she had not seen anyone try to stuff pasta shells with taco ingredients yet.
She began by boiling water.
Then let the pasta shells fall into the pot, and waited for them to soften up. She strained them and finished off by adding salt.
Using a shallow cooking pan, she sautéed ground beef with diced onions and green peppers.
After the beef was somewhat cooked, she added taco seasoning and a pinch of water to the pan.
She continued sautéing the beef until it was coated in seasoning and cooked through.
Then came the stuffing.
“Stuff each shell with a spoonful of meat and a nice big chunk of cheese.”
Once she filled the first past shell, she used a second shell to top it off.
“Double shell it so that the cheese won’t escape when you air fry,” she suggested.
All that was left was to add a hint of nonstick cooking spray and a touch of salt, and the shells were ready for the fryer.
She said: “Air fry at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. While that’s working, I make a taco sour cream for dipping.”
