Evil couple who tried pinning baby daughter’s horrific injuries on paramedics are jailed over her death
A MONSTER couple who tried blaming paramedics for their baby daughter’s horrific injuries have been jailed over her death.
Amina-Faye Johnson tragically died at home in Southwark, South London, after she stopped breathing.
Amina Faye was found with multiple injuries[/caption]The eight-week-old’s death was originally given as Sudden Unexplained Death in Infants but a post mortem later revealed sickening injuries.
Amina had suffered over 60 fractured bones – including 41 to her ribs and 24 limb bone fractures – and evidence of a small brain haemorrhage.
Naomi Johnson, 23, and Benjamin O’Shea, 26, have now been jailed at Inner London Crown Court.
The mum was handed seven years and two months while O’Shea was sentenced to eight years and eight months.
The vile pair were convicted of causing or allowing a child to suffer serious physical harm.
They were also found guilty of cruelty to a person under-16 in relation to a separate child.
On April 26, 2019, Johnson and O’Shea called 999 saying Amina had been found unresponsive.

Paramedics battled to save the baby but despite their best efforts she was declared dead at the scene.
A criminal probe was launched after doctors discovered the horrific catalogue of injuries Amina had suffered in her short life.
Some of the fractures were recent while others had already begun to heal – with medics suggesting she had been subjected to “multiple episodes of abuse”.
A post mortem was unable to find a cause of death.
When quizzed by police, O’Shea claimed the tot had been fine when he took her to the GP for a routine visit.
But he said she woke up grumpy the next morning so he gave her some paracetamol then put her to bed.
The dad claimed he returned to check on her 20 minutes later but said she “did not look right” and her arms were floppy.
Both he and Johnson callously tried blaming paramedics who desperately fought to save their daughter’s life for causing her injuries.
‘MONSTROUS’
Police investigating the death later discovered O’Shea made numerous calls to NHS 111 between 2016 and 2019 over his self-diagnosed PTSD and aggression issues.
Officers also discovered the lying dad, who boasted of his military service, had just been a reservist for a couple of years.
Text messages between the couple revealed they had both abused the second child, who can’t be named.
Johnson admitted slapping them three times and only giving them water until dinner, while O’Shea said he struggled to keep his cool when they knocked a drink over.
Detective Inspector Melanie Pressley, who led the investigation said: “This is a truly heart-breaking case that has touched all of us who have worked on bringing Johnson and O’Shea before the court for their monstrous crimes.
“The cruelty and callousness with which the pair discussed the treatment of the other child in this case is shocking.
“Children depend on adults and the children in this case were sorely betrayed by Johnson and O’Shea in the most tragic of ways.
“In eight weeks of life Amina suffered an unimaginable number of injuries. The trauma she endured in her short life is impossible to comprehend, her injuries are a catalogue of the most despicable abuse.
“Equally incomprehensible is how an adult can inflict such cruelty on defenceless, innocent children. Throughout our investigation we have been unable to establish how the baby died and Johnson and O’Shea have been steadfast in their refusal to answer our questions.
“They have sought to protect themselves in a way they clearly did not for the two children in this case.”
