I have to pay thousands of pounds after tenants destroyed my home – it took a court order to kick them out
A FURIOUS landlord had to pay thousands of pounds to kick out feral tenants who lived in squalor.
Jenny Darroch was stunned to see state of her Northbourne property in Bournemouth, Dorset, after the nightmare renters were finally evicted.
She was forced to get a court order to remove the tenants who destroyed her home and left it in desperate need of repairs.
Shocking pictures show the home in deplorable condition, with rubbish scattered throughout bedrooms and living areas.
Jenny told the Daily Echo: “I am so frustrated about what has happened to the property, which was once my own home.”
The stove top in the kitchen was left full of grime with a pan of maggots and cupboard doors missing.
Random items are seen strewn across the home while bin bags full of trash sit idlily amid a mess of abandoned furniture, settled dust, food particles, torn paper and random items.

In one room, the blinds have been broken while stains line the walls and mould grows on the roof.
It will cost Jenny tens of thousands to get the house back to it’s original state.
Jenny rented out the home in 2019 to support social housing supply, joining Bournemouth Christchurch and Pool Council’s landlord incentive scheme.
The property was let through Homes4let which was operated by East Boro Housing Trust.
Jenny says Homes4Let failed to take references.
‘ENSURE PROPER CHECKS’
Not long after the tenants moved in, the damage was done but both she and the agents were unable to access the home.
Jenny then found herself being threatened with enforcement action if she didn’t fix some of the damage.
She told B: “If the council want private landlords to let their properties out they should ensure the proper checks and precautions are done.
“Landlords are not all bad. I let the property out to try to do a good thing.”
A East Boro Housing Trust spokesperson said: “East Boro Housing Trust is the former operator of Homes4Let but sold the agency in March 2021.
“We’re currently carrying out a review into the issue around the address so we’re unable to comment further until that is complete.
“In the meantime, we’re keeping in regular contact with the landlord about the process and have agreed that we will let them know as soon as we’ve concluded our review.”
A BCP Council spokesperson was unable to comment on the specific case.
The Sun has contacted both organisations for additional comment.
