‘Yet to formalise bid’ – Journalist gives update on Tottenham’s pursuit of forward
The Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor has revealed that Tottenham are yet to formalise an offer for Ramsgate forward Joshua Ajayi.
Ajayi has been on fire in front of goal this season, having scored 19 times in 24 appearances so far in the Isthmian League South East Division (Isthmian).
It emerged two weeks ago that the teenager was set to have a trial at Spurs after impressing in the first half of the campaign (Ryan Taylor).
Ramsgate manager Matt Longhurst also confirmed that a Premier League club had shown interest in the 19-year-old and admitted that the forward could be on his way out of the Southwood Stadium.
Taylor has now taken to social media to reveal that Ajayi has been invited back to train at Hotspur Way this week and could not feature for Ramsgate against Blackburn as a result.
The journalist revealed the North Londoners were facing competition for the youngster from Stevenage, who have held talks with the player, as well as from Peterborough and Cambridge.
An update on the future of @RamsgateFC forward Joshua Ajayi. He’s been invited back to train at Spurs again this week (couldn’t feature vs Blackburn). Stevenage have held talks with the player but yet to formalise bid. Peterborough & Cambridge also now interested. #THFC

It is good to see that Tottenham are looking for young talents in the lower leagues given the amount of successful top-flight players who have come from non-league over the last decade.
