San Jose: Two pedestrians killed in traffic collision
SAN JOSE – A driver hit and killed two pedestrians Tuesday night in San Jose, police said.
The traffic collision was reported at about 8:25 p.m. at the intersection of Almaden Expressway and Foxworthy Avenue, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Police said the pedestrians were pronounced dead at hospitals. A third pedestrian suffered injuries police described as not life-threatening.
The driver remained at the scene and was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.
The deaths marked the city’s sixth and seventh roadway fatalities of the year and the fourth and fifth to involve pedestrians.
The intersection was expected to remain closed for several hours while police conducted an investigation.
Units are currently at the scene of a fatal traffic collision involving a vehicle and three pedestrians. This occurred at Almaden Ex and Foxworthy Av.
