Piers Morgan fans go wild as he returns to breakfast TV after nearly a year – with cheeky dig at ITV
PIERS Morgan returned to breakfast TV today for the first time in nearly a year.
The 56-year-old star appeared on the BBC’s new Sunday Morning show to review the papers – and fans loved it.
Many were delighted to see him back on screen as he tackled everything from Novak Djokovic‘s deportation to Boris Johnson.
One tweeted after his strident review: “Piers Morgan on the money this morning.”
Another wrote: “My Sunday just made better with seeing piers great thoughts and opinions.”
A third posted: “Great seeing you back Piers, can’t wait for your new show.”
Piers, who jetted back to London from the US yesterday, will soon be back on screens full-time hosting a daily programme for talkTV.
He opened his appearance today with a cheeky dig at Good Morning Britain, the show he left after refusing to apologise for saying he didn’t believe Meghan Markle.

Sun columnist Piers told presenter Sophie Raworth: “I haven’t been on breakfast television for nearly a year.
“It feels weird but nice. And my one question for you is: ‘Am I allowed to have an opinion?’ Because that was the problem before.”
She replied: “Well, you’ve come to tell us about the papers.”
Piers, who looked tanned after his trip to Los Angeles, summed up the papers, saying: “There is a common theme with all the people in the news.
“Whether it’s Novak Djokovic who’s been told he’s going to be deported for breaking all sorts of rules.
“You have Boris Johnson who doesn’t believe the rules apply to him, Prince Andrew doesn’t believe the rules apply to him.
“Prince Harry’s popped his head up in California, again wanting to have his royal cake and eat it.”
He later spoke about his much-anticipated talkTV series telling Sophie: “I’m launching a new global daily TV show.
“It starts in the Spring. It will air daily in the UK, daily in the US, daily in Australia as well so I will be a tri-continental irritant.
“It’s something I’ve been aspiring to be for some time. It’s going to be debate and big interviews.
“If you’ve missed me on morning TV I’m sorry but I’ll be back very soon. If you haven’t missed me, I’m not sorry.”
