Everton were beaten by Norwich, who were bottom of the league, and are now just six points above the drop zone.
Things are growing more and more toxic at Goodison Park and Benitez’s time now looks to be coming to an end.
Reports last night suggested a board meeting was taking place to rubberstamp his dismissal.
The Toffees have made two January signings already this month in an apparent show of faith for Benitez, but things look to have taken a turn after the defeat at Carrow Road,
Betfair have priced Hjulmand at 3/1 to replace him if he does go with Lampard and Rooney both 7/2.
Next on the list is Nuno Espirito Santo at 9/2, who was sacked by Tottenham earlier this season.

Betfair Spokesperson, Sam Rosbottom said: “A second Merseyside exit could be on the cards for Rafa Benitez shortly as his odds of being the next Premier League manager to leave have been slashed to 4/11 from 2/1 following Everton’s 2-1 defeat against Norwich.
“Kasper Hjulmand is the 3/1 favourite to replace Benitez at Everton, with former England internationals Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney next at 7/2, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is 33/1 to takeover at Goodison and make a return to the Premier League.”
Favourite Hjulmand is head coach of Denmark and would be an obscure choice for the Toffees.
Hjulmand’s Denmark impressed at Euro 2020, beating Wales and the Czech Republic before losing to England in extra-time at Wembley.
With nine wins from ten, 30 goals scored and three conceded, Denmark qualified for the 2022 World Cup in stunning fashion.
But their Qatar qualification could hinder an approach if Everton come knocking.
Hjulmand would become Everton’s SEVENTH permanent manager since David Moyes left in May 2013.
Meanwhile Lampard remains out of work since leaving Chelsea last season when he was replaced by Thomas Tuchel, who went on to win the Champions League.
Rooney is impressing at Derby despite the difficult circumstances and is a club legend – but we still be regarded as a gamble.
