I work in a restaurant & customers are so demanding and asking for the ‘chef’s special’ doesn’t make you important
A RESTAURANT worker has opened up about the most demanding customers she faces on a daily basis.
Alana, who works in a restaurant in the US said that customers think that just because they have dietary requirements, that they can have the chef make them whatever they want, and they also try to pay in bizarre ways.
Alana is shocked by some customers[/caption]Taking to her TikTok account, Alana reenacted an encounter she had with a vegan customer who came into the restaurant where she worked.
Posting under the domain @alanafinewoman she explained that the customer refused to even hear the vegan options on the menu as she wanted a dish made especially for her.
After refusing to eat a salad, Alana tried to explain what vegan pasta dishes were available and the customer said: “I’m not really interested in hearing about any of that, can your chef just like, make me something?”
Alana said: “Ya sure, he can make you one of the vegan options that are listed on our menu.”

The customer then got annoyed at the restaurant worker saying that nothing on the menu would do.
“Well, I don’t want anything on the menu, so can he just like, put together something that I will like?” said the customer.
When Alana asked what the customer DID like, listing off particular vegetables, the customer said “I like something that is vegan.”
After going back and forth, the customer eventually asked could she order the chicken sandwich.

Confused, Alana asked the customer if she realised that chicken was not vegan, to which she responded: “Ya I know, but who really cares at the end of the day right?”
In another post, Alana revealed that customers try and pay with gift cards that are not for her restaurant with one customer intending to pay with a Starbucks card.
In the post titled “Please pay me with money,” the restaurant worker said that she tried to explain to the customer that he could not pay with his Starbucks gift card and he didn’t understand why not.
“But there’s money on it,” said the customer, to which Alana responded, “Ya, but money for Starbucks.”
The customer still did not see the issue telling Alana to “scan it” if she didn’t believe there was money on it, and saying that “money is money.”
Alana eventually lost patience saying “Even if this were your crazy fantasy world where we accept Starbucks points instead of real money, your bill is $100 today so $25 is not enough to cover the whole thing, you still need another form of payment.”
The customer responded by saying: “I was really hoping to get rid of this gift card today” and even asked could he SELL Alana the card.
“If the restaurant won’t take the perfectly good $25 on this card, what if I sell YOU this card, and instead of giving them $25 to me, you just put it onto my bill?” asked the customer, who then offered to pay in bitcoin.
The post has been viewed over 529k times and TikTok users have been quick to comment.
“Why do these types of people go out to eat” commented one person
Another added “I guess no monopoly money either? oooh, so strict rules.”
“‘How do you expect me to pay’ Money. They expect money.” commented a third.
Customers don’t take no for an answer[/caption]In related news… I’m a waitress and these are the annoying complaints customers make every day AFTER they’ve eaten their food.
More on annoying customers… I work in retail & I’m sick of people trying to get refunds on clothes they’ve clearly worn or asking for freebies
