My fiancée bumped into my secret lover on night out & glassed her – she feared jail but I forgive her
A HUSBAND has revealed he forgives his new wife after she smashed a glass in a love rival’s face in a “stupid mistake”.
Megan Haylett was in a bar in Gateshead when she bumped into Eden Larkin, who then-fiance Jordan Stagg had spent the night with.

Eden was left with a horrific black eye and needed glass removed from a gash on her forehead.
Haylett’s now-husband Jordan has now spoken out after she avoided jail for unlawful wounding.
Speaking from the marital home in Gateshead, he told The Sun Online: “Megan is the kindest, loveliest person.
“If you met her you would understand.
“She was 100 per cent provoked on the night. It was just a stupid mistake.”

Jordan told how they have been through an “awful few years” with the court case hanging over them.
He said they want to “put it behind us” now, adding: “It’s been terrible for Megan. She thought she might go to jail.
“Deep down I think I knew that would not happen, but it’s been a worrying
time.
“Megan and I are still together. Everything is fine between us and we are just glad it’s over.”
Newcastle Crown Court heard how Eden and Jordan had been messaging each other in December 2019 before he married Haylett.
He told her “how much he liked her” and how bad his relationship was with his future wife.
They spent the night together but Eden felt guilty when she discovered Jordan and Haylett were engaged and planning their wedding.

Eden then asked her: “Megan, do you want to go outside, I don’t know what your problem is.”
Jordan, who was at the pub at the time, told his fiancee to stop behaving “in that manner” but Haylett suddenly chucked her drink over Eden.
She then struck her with the glass – causing Eden to be taken to hospital.
Prosecutor Neil Pallister said: “She became aware of pain in her left eye and blood running down her face, the glass clearly having cut her forehead.
“She felt a second blow to the back of her head and saw the defendant being led
away by others.”
The court was told prosecutors accept Haylett’s intention was to “swill her with a drink” and not to cause injury.
Tony Cornberg, defending, said Haylett is “genuinely remorseful” over the “horrendous blip in an otherwise respectable life”.
She was handed a 14 month prison sentence suspended for two years and was ordered to pay £5,000 compensation to the victim.
Sentencing, Recorder Ben Nolan QC said the situation must have been “humiliating” for both women.
