Encouraging performances dont keep you in the league though
At what point do we stop patting the team on the back for nearly being good enough? Or do we keep using our injury problems as an excuse?
Its nearly December and we are 17th with the same amount of wins as Norwich who most fans in this league consider a joke team.
You know who else patted their team on the back for nearly matches a lot last season and said things like "it will be ok when injuries subside" . . . Sheffield United.
Relegated teams always bemoan injuries and bad luck.
You build a squad to deal with injuries, if you cant then you havent built a good squad, that is your fault. The club and Bielsa choose to go with a small squad, they decided last summer to not strengthen the depth even though every season under Bielsa has brought bad injury problems.
If you choose to run with a small squad then you cant use injuries as an excuse since the lack of depth was a conscious decision.
So it's not the players fault? They seem to be the ones who get 'cr*p, sh*t, useless, pathetic players thrown at them from various quarters...
