Colbert tells Adam Schiff what an oligarch revealed to him about the so-called 'pee tape' in Moscow
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) appeared on CBS's "Late Show with Stephen Colbert" this week when the topic of the recent interview with Christopher Steele came up.
In an interview with ABC News's George Stephanopoulos, Steele claimed that he stands by everything in his now-infamous dossier, but then acknowledged that there are inaccuracies.
When it came to an alleged videotape in which former President Donald Trump may have been with prostitutes that urinated on a bed that President Barack Obama once slept in, Steele maintains that the story is likely true.
That was the topic that interested Colbert the most when he spoke to Schiff, who served on the impeachment team for both the Ukraine scandal impeachment and the Jan. 6 scandal impeachment.
Colbert recalled a trip he took to Moscow to do his own investigative report on Trump and the alleged pee-tape. He told Schiff about being in the hotel room and jumping on the bed, a critical part of his investigation. Schiff, who seemed not to believe Colbert at first, chuckled throughout the interview, but Colbert made it clear that he did talk to some people who gave information about what they observed.
According to Colbert, an oligarch said that Trump was in the suite because there was a party being held even though it wasn't his room. The prostitutes that were there also weren't Trump's, they were attending the party and jumping on the bed when Trump suggested that they urinate on it. They did.
"And he sat there and watched it happen," said Colbert. "That makes a lot more sense, doesn't it?"
All Schiff could do is laugh uncomfortably.
"Doesn't that have a ring of truth?" asked Colbert. "Take no position. But if you think I'm right, just breathe and blink."
