Woman fatally shot in Oakland hills
OAKLAND — A woman was found shot to death in the Oakland hills Monday morning, authorities said.
Authorities were trying to identify her.
The woman’s body was spotted by a bicyclist about 9 a.m. Monday in the 7800 block of Redwood Road, an isolated area near Pinehurst Road, authorities said
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not said how long she may have been at the site before she was found.
A motive for the killing is under investigation. No arrests have been made.
The killing is the 113th death this year that Oakland police are investigating as a homicide and the second within an hour Monday. About 8:26 a.m. a woman was killed in what police said was a deliberate hit-and-run collision in East Oakland. Last year Oakland police investigated a total of 109 homicides in the city.
