Map: Evacuation for KNP Fire Complex in Sequoia National Park
The KNP Complex wildfire has reached the area of Wuksachi Lodge in Sequoia National Park.
As of Sunday morning, fire managers for the Forest Service estimated the fire’s size at 21,777 acres (34 square miles). What had initially been two fires — Colony and Paradise — merged at the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River.
The fire has crossed the Generals Highway at several points.
The park’s services and facilities are closed — roads, campgrounds, lodges and visitor centers — and all wilderness permits have been canceled.
To the north, Kings Canyon National Park remains open, but the road between the two parks is closed.
The evacuation zone is indicated on the map above in orange. The community of Three Rivers is under a warning.
Thirty miles south, the Windy Fire has prompted evacuations in Sequoia National Forest. Zoom out on the map above to see that zone.
