Carol Vorderman beams with pride as son Cameron gets his masters degree after overcoming ‘endless bullying’
CAROL Vorderman has gushed with pride over her son Cameron after he overcame “endless bullying” and got his masters degree.
The former Countdown host took to Twitter to celebrate her son’s achievement in a series of heartfelt posts explaining his special education journey.
Carol, 60, beamed with pride as she told her social media following about her son’s special educational needs and how he overcame expectations.
In a first gushing post, the telly star posted two childhood snaps of Cameron, now 24, before detailing his early schooling days.
“My son Cameron was a happy toddler,” Carol wrote. “Before and after he started school it became clear that he had severe special educational needs.
“No school would accept him. I was going to give up work to teach him but even I couldn’t teach a child with his severe needs.”
She followed up in a video: “He struggled, and when I say struggled, it was off the scale. I had to find him a special school, if you like.”
Carol explained that while Cameron was “super bright”, his learning abilities looking “different to normal” as he required extra help.
She went on to post a second set of photographs, showing Cameron growing up and blossoming into an adult as she dubbed him “The Master”.
“It’s hard for these kids. They get bullied and told they’re ‘odd’ when really they have a superpower, they see the world a different way,” she added.
Carol then posted a third tweet, showing a sweet cake she had made specially to celebrate her sons happy news.
“Cam stuck with it, through endless bullying, changed school, developed strategies to learn,” she continued of his schooling struggles.
“He got a first class honours degree in animation, and now he has just received his masters degree in animation and video effects.

“I could not be more proud of him and I love him to bits, but I’m also a very proud mum because I know just how much he struggled to get there.”
Proud mum Carol concluded that she had “learned so much” from her son, including “patience, kindness, perseverance and calmness”.
She left her following with a message to be patient with those who have special educational needs after explaining what it meant in a fourth video.
“I suppose the message is for all those with special educational needs, it just sometimes takes a little bit more time, but they can get there in the end,” Carol concluded.
“They have their superpower and one day they will find their path IF they’re guided well.”
The Countdown star also shared Cameron’s story to her Instagram page, where dozens of fans rushed to the comments to gush over his success.
“Congrats Cameron! Carol you should be super proud,” one fan wrote, as a second chimed in: “Amazing and inspiring story, well done Cameron!”
A third parent reached out, touched by the post: “I can feel the proudness, so lovely to see. As a fellow special needs parent, this has made my day!”

It comes days after Carol wowed fans as she shared a scorching bikini snap with fans as she basked in the “last day of sunshine”.
The star looked to be laying in her garden as she posed for the snap, which showed off her cleavage as she turned on her side toward the camera.
Carol donned a tan two-piece for the saucy snap featuring blue beading across the chest, as well as a pair of tortoise shell sunglasses.
Having just stepped out of a pool, she let her wet hair cling to her body as she appeared to go make-up free for the selfie.
“The last days of sunshine perhaps?” Carol captioned the post that saw her snuggled up among fluffy grey towels on a sun bed.
“I’ve loved this summer….one of the best ever,” she concluded, as her fans flew to the comments to call her “beautiful” and “perfection”.
Carol is no stranger to showing off her incredible body on her social media, recently showing off her curves in skin-tight leggings.
She was also seen in another busty display on Instagram over the summer, with comments pouring in over her ample cleavage.
