The Telegraph’s Matt Law revealed on Wednesday that Harry Kane has effectively ruled himself out of running for Tottenham’s season opener against Manchester City by spending another day at Florida.
Kane was expected to report back to pre-season training on Monday but the striker is yet to show up at Hotspur Way as he attempts to engineer a transfer away from the club.
There have been contradictory reports regarding the striker’s whereabouts over the last few days, with some sources claiming that he is quarantining after returning from the Bahamas and others suggesting that the striker is in Florida.
The 28-year-old is expected to report back to training later this week and meet with new Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo for the first time.
Matt Law has now revealed that the striker was in Florida on Wednesday and that the England captain’s quarantine requirements upon his return to England would rule him out of Tottenham’s season opener.
The journalist also added that Manchester City are set to focus their attention on the Tottenham star once they get a deal for Jack Grealish over the line.

Spurs Web Opinion
Kane and his entourage have clearly been advised badly by City and I cannot imagine Levy taking kindly to the striker’s antics. While the England captian is the best striker in the world, I would rather not see him play for us again if his heart is not 100 per cent in it.
We have a much better chance of getting a result against City with eleven players who are fully committed and willing to work hard for the team.
In fact, given that we will be playing on the counter against the Premier League champions, the pace of Bergwijn, Son and Lucas might give us a better chance of nicking a goal or two than having Kane in the team.
