The Hammers will also have to compete with the likes of Crystal Palace, Watford and Leeds for his signature, according to bookmakers Betfair.
The Ox has struggled to cement his place in Liverpool’s starting XI since his cruciate ligament injury in 2018.
The 27-year-old missed the first half of the 2020-21 campaign and managed 17 bit-part appearances from December onwards – totalling 286 minutes of action.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has two years remaining on his contract, which expires in June 2023.
But reports have claimed that Liverpool are open to the idea of selling Ox for around £17million.
And West Ham are the leading contenders with Betfair at odds of 5/2.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain next club – Betfair odds
- West Ham – 5/2
- Newcastle – 4/1
- Southampton – 5/1
- Aston Villa – 8/1
- Crystal Palace – 10/1
- Watford – 14/1
- Leeds – 16/1
Moyes and Co. are looking to bolster their ranks to cope with the demands of European football and a cut-price deal for Ox could be an ideal scenario.
Newcastle are their closest challengers at 4/1 with Southampton a fraction behind at 5/1.
Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are priced at 8/1 and 10/1 respectively with Watford at 14s.
Leeds are the outsiders of the pack at 16/1.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has started pre-season training, might want to stay and fight for his position.
But Anfield legend John Barnes thinks he should pursue opportunities elsewhere.
He said: “I think [Oxlade-Chamberlain should join] Leicester or West Ham.
“Leicester would probably be a bit better suited because they’re more stable than West Ham as they know that they will be in the top seven most seasons, which isn’t the case for West Ham.
“However, if he wanted to go back down south then I think West Ham would be a good move for Alex, too.”
Jamie Carragher, meanwhile, thinks Klopp should consider deploying the Ox at right-back if Neco Williams is offloaded this summer.
He tweeted: “Could the Ox not play there?
“Got the pace & engine, he’ll be fine on the ball & used to being in crossing areas after spending so long there as a winger.”
