BBM Sport Complete Sales of Seven Peugeot 908s
The Masters Endurance Legends races at Paul Ricard last weekend saw a hugely encouraging 23 car entry despite recent and restrictive changes to COVID travel restrictions.
The meeting saw the first MEL race featuring cars, drivers and teams from across Europe since the COVID pandemic decimated the racing calendar early last year and we saw some great racing throughout the grid.
The passion to compete still burns then, and the variety of cars on track was pretty impressive too with the grid split 50:50 between Prototypes and GT cars.
The news from within the industry is good too, with several teams and car prepares reporting to DSC that demand is high both from current racers and from those keen to be racing again soon with their existing or newly acquired cars.
Catching up with BBM Sport’s Bob Berridge there was even further indication of a buoyant marketplace.
“We’re very busy in the workshop, and, if anything, we’ve been busier still in the sales marketplace, as we have sold our batch of seven Peugeots, a mix of 908 HDI FAPs and the later 90Xs, and I think we’ll see at least 3 or 4 of them out and racing over the course of the next twelve months’’. When pressed for who had bought the cars, Bob replied ‘’all will be revealed….”
“We also bought the BR01 LMP2 project and we have now sold four out of the five cars we bought too, together with a further recent sale of a Lola LMP2 Coupe – all of those we will see racing service again in the near future”.
“It’s feeling as if the market is just waiting for the opportunity to get back on track more easily, and then I think we’re set to see Masters Endurance Legends with extremely good grids.”
