Heung-min Son pays tribute to Eriksen after scoring goal
Heung-min Son paid tribute to his former Tottenham Hotspur team mate Christian Eriksen earlier today.
Son, who was on international duty with South Korea scored from the penalty spot in the 65th minute of their World Cup qualifier against Lebanon.
After finding the bottom corner of the net to give us side a 2-1 lead, the Spurs player held up his fingers to make the ‘23’ number in reference to Eriksen’s squad number during his time in North London.
Son continued to run to the nearest television camera and said “Christian, Stay strong! I love you.”
Yesterday, Eriksen collapsed shortly before half-time in Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 game against Finland and was awake and stable in hospital.
Denmark’s captain Simon Kjaer was one of the first players on the scene and appeared to clear Eriksen’s airways.
The severity of the incident was apparent, and players from both teams urged the medical staff to hurry on and battled to resuscitate him.
