UK weather forecast LIVE – Brits to scorch in 30C heatwave this weekend with Monday set to be HOTTEST day of the year
BRITS set to sizzle in the 30C sunshine for at least 14 more days with reports of a new heatwave on the way.
According to Netweather the south-east can expect the hottest weather with “Perhaps nudging the low 30s in the south-east of England.”
It means footie fans will bask in 29C heat as the Euros kick off on what’s being dubbed the hottest weekend of the year – with Brits set to pack out sunny beer gardens.
With humid conditions building towards the weekend, 30C or more is “quite possible” on Saturday and Sunday, said John Hammond of Weather Trending.
The Met Office’s long-range weather forecast reveals that temperatures are to be “very warm perhaps hot for a time” for the first part of the week starting June 14.
Met Office forecaster Alex Deakin said of the weekend’s scorching weather: “If you like sunny skies then you’re in for a bit of a treat because most parts of the UK will see an awful lot of blue sky on Saturday and Sunday.
“Saturday will be a cracking day if you like summer sunshine with temperatures generally in the mid to high twenties. On Sunday, we will see temperatures rising further, more widely over 27C and we could get 28C or maybe 29C across the south east.”
