To the editor: Comparison of USPS not whole story
A letter to the editor in Wednesday’s Blade, “USPS has Bad Management,” boasted of the superiority of private enterprise over government provided services like the United States Postal Service. The writer failed to acknowledge they were comparing apples and rutabagas. USPS is required to stop at every address every service day. UPS and FedEx do have attractive profit margins as they only need to go to an address if they actually have business at that address. It also must be a relatively high dollar service, such as delivery of a package or express mail.
