Ottawa, Kan. - The Bethany College Swedes Outdoor Track and Field Team competed at the KCAC Championships over the weekend. "The Swedes had a strong showing at the final Track and Field competition of the season, I was impressed with how our squad competed" said Head Coach Aaron Yoder. The team had a total of twenty-six personal bests, fourteen all conference honorable mention performances, one school record and one event champion. "It was especially exciting watching five seniors compete for the last time as they all finished as all conference performers and with personal bests" added Yoder. "We are very excited for next year as this season built a lot of momentum for what we will do, we finished on a high note and will be ready for next year" said Yoder. Highlighting the competition for the Swedes were Charles Adams winning his second conference title in the Pole Vault and Hannah Price setting the school record in the steeplechase. Camisha Stevens was awarded the Champion of Character for the Swedes while also earning all conference honors in four events the triple jump, long jump, javelin, and the 4x100 relay.
