Sunol: Fire crews contain blaze next to I-680 lanes
SUNOL — Firefighters contained a vegetation fire alongside Interstate 680 lanes, authorities said Wednesday.
Shortly after 2:05 p.m., Alameda County Fire Department and CalFire firefighters responded to reports of flames west of southbound I-680 lanes near the Andrade Road exit.
When firefighters arrived, they found a half-acre of grassland with flames slowly spreading, and quickly contained the fire at about an acre, according to CalFire social-media posts.
The California Highway Patrol did not close any I-680 lanes during the fire, and a preliminary cause was under investigation.
