Knicks Sign Luca Vildoza From Spain To A Four-Year Deal
According to ESPN.com’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the New York Knicks signed Argentinian point guard Luca Vidoza from the Spanish ACB League.
The deal is expected to be for four years with a value of $13.6 million. However, the contract will only be guaranteed for one year, giving New York some flexibility in evaluating his talent at the NBA level.
It’s a shrewd move for New York as they’ve essentially jumped the line to get an early start in the free-agent market before the summer. The deal could end up giving the Knicks some cover as they have three-point guards (Derrick Rose, Frank Ntilikina, and Elfrid Payton) who will be free agents after this season.
Here are some highlights of Vidoza in action overseas.
The Luca Vildoza signing is a huge deal for the Knicks. The 25-year-old Argentinian PG has been one of the most coveted guards in Europe for some time. Excellent pull-up game, creative PnR passer, feisty defender. Brings the Argentinian spirit to the floor. Huge fan of his game. pic.twitter.com/fRixQ9yv9N
