Harry Kane becomes first Spurs player to comment on Mourinho sacking
There were certainly winners and losers of the Jose Mourinho reign at Tottenham over the past 17 months and Harry Kane would have to go down in the former.
The England captain has arguably played the best football of his career under The Special One, adopting a new number ten role that has added creativity to his game.
Kane currently tops both the goal and assist charts in the Premier League while registering 31 goals and 16 assists in 43 games across all competitions this season (TransferMarkt).
It was announced this morning that Tottenham had taken the decision to sack Jose Mourinho after a year-and-a-half in charge of the club.
Reports have claimed that Spurs were left unhappy with Mourinho criticising players in public and were worried that the fanbase would turn against him once they returned to the stadium.
However, Kane had nothing but nice words to say about his former head coach today as he became the first Spurs player to comment on the sacking.
He tweeted, alongside a photo of him and Mourinho: “Thank you for everything Boss. A pleasure to have worked together. I wish you all the best for your next chapter.”
