PRINCE Philip was laid to rest in the Royal Vault of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle after he died aged 99.
This will not be the Duke‘s final resting place as his body will be moved to the King George VI memorial chapel when the Queen dies, where they will lie together.

Princess Margaret
Princess Margaret died in 2002[/caption]The Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret was buried in the Memorial Chapel at Windsor in 2002 after she suffered a stroke.
She died in her sleep on February , 2002,9 from cardiac complications related to the stroke she had the afternoon before.
She was 71 years old when she died, and as per her wishes she was cremated before her ashes were placed beside the coffin of her father, King George VI.
The Queen Mother
The Queen Mother died aged 101[/caption]Tragically for the Queen, she lost her younger sister and her mother in the same year.
The Queen Mother died on March 30, 2002, at the age of 101.
Both the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret are buried in the tiny George VI memorial chapel, within the main chapel with the Queen’s father King George VI.
King George VI
King George VI was buried at the royal spot[/caption]The Queen’s father, who died aged 56, is buried at Windsor Palace.
King George VI was found dead in his bed at Sandringham House in Norfolk on the morning of February 6, 1952.
He died from coronary thrombosis, which blocked the blood flow to the heart as a result of a blood clot in an artery.

Henry VIII was known for the horrific treatment of his wives and ordered two of them – Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard – to be beheaded.
He is buried with his third wife, Jane Seymour, who died of childbirth complications less than two weeks after giving birth to their son.
Henry and Jane’s final resting place is in the quire location of the Royal Vault.
Beheaded Charles I
Charles I, who was beheaded after he was convicted of treason in 1649, is buried in the quire too.
He became heir to the throne when his brother Henry died in 1612 and was known for being painfully shy and insecure.
After seven years of Charles’ supporters and Oliver Cromwell’s Parliamentarians the King was killed outside the Banqueting House in Whitehall.
The fourth person buried in the quire is an infant child of Queen Anne who died in 1696.
The north quire aisle houses the bodies of King Edward IV who died in 1483, Queen Elizabeth Woodville, died 1483 and Princess Louise, Duchess of Saxe-Weimar and niece of Queen Adelaide, who was laid to rest in 1832.
And the south quire is home to King Henry VI, 1471, King Edward VII, 1910, and Queen Alexandra, 1925.

George III, George IV, William IV, and his wife Queen Adelaide lie in rest in the Royal Vault along with Queen Victoria‘s father, Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent and many more.
