Morning Briefing: Mets Look to Win Rubber Match Against Rockies
Good morning, Mets fans!
After splitting Saturday’s doubleheader, the New York Mets will look to claim the series on Sunday as they take on the Colorado Rockies. Mets righty Marcus Stroman (2-0, 0.75 ERA) will take the mound for the rubber match as he faces off against Rockies righty Antonio Senzatela (1-2, 7.07 ERA).
Luckily, neither rain nor snow is forecasted for the series finale in Denver. First pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m. and the game will be broadcasted on SNY and WQBU 92.7.

The Players Alliance is an organization compromised of 143 current and former MLB Players that looks to “create an inclusive culture within baseball and the community.”
According to Jacob Resnick of SNY, 2015 fourth-round pick David Thompson hit a home run in an Alternate Site game against the Red Sox on Saturday. He is scheduled to be a minor league free agent at the conclusion of the upcoming season.

Per Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, FOX announcer Joe Buck will be a guest host on “Jeopardy!” for episodes set to air in mid-summer. Buck will be trying out for the permanent job and his tryout shouldn’t interfere with his schedule announcing for FOX.
