Majidov stopped inside a round by Fedosov!
Just moments ago we had a massive upset live on DAZN as previously unbeaten Azeri Heavyweight Mahammadrasul Majidov (3-1, 3) was taken out in around 90 seconds by Russian veteran Andrey Fedosov (32-4, 26)!
Fedosov showed some ambition straight away before Majidov seemed to settle behind his jab and it seemed like Majidov was starting to find his groove until a huge right hand from Fedosov landed clean, sending Majidov down hard. Majidov managed to get to his feet but Fedosov jumped on him immediately and sent him down for a second time. This time Majidov made no effort to get up, and made it clear that he was unfit to continue, having suffered some sort of leg injury.
Following the bout Majidov was removed from the ring on a stretcher, and did look to be in some genuine pain whilst on the canvas.
As for Fedosov this was a huge win, especially given it was his first fight in well over 2 years. Sadly however it could be the end for Majidov, who is already 34 and will need a significant rest if the injury is as bad as it appeared.
For those curious, Fedosov was around 9/1 to score a win, marking this as one of the biggest betting upset of 2021 so far.
