Pound the parks and pavements with top running kit from watches to compression leggings
RUNNING became a lifesaver for me and millions of others during lockdown as we used the allotted exercise time to pound the parks and pavements.
And according to new statistics from Runners Need we plan to carry on with it, so I’ve had a look at running kit. Meanwhile, our Beauty Editor has put hair removal devices to the test.

COMPRESSION LEGGINGS – 2XU Women’s Aero Vent mid-rise compression tights come with panels to support airflow and prevent overheating, firm compression to boost blood flow to muscles and lower risk of injury. I felt supported while running and my legs ached less afterwards. Would definitely buy, even with the pricey £80 tag. (runnersneed.com).
WATCH – The new Honor Band 6 packs in a lot for £44.99 – large display, connects to your phone to take photos, play music, make calls or get weather notifications. It holds 14 days’ power and a ten-minute charge gives three days’ power. It tracks heart rate and sleep, has ten workout modes and even detects users’ blood oxygen levels. Great for keeping tabs on respiratory health. (hihonor.com).
PHYSIO AT HOME – If you’re injured and need help I’d recommend myphysiohub. You get a full assessment, diagnosis and management plan via video for £55. Then £35 follow-up rehab sessions. You can choose the expert you want. The physio I had was friendly and explained exercises clearly. Plus they send exercises you can do at home. See myphysiohub.co.uk.

Hair removal device with two interchangeable tips making it suitable for both face and body. Uses “Pulsed Thermicon Technology” to remove hair with a gentle heat while treating the surface for long-lasting results. Unfortunately this device didn’t remove my hair. I tried it on my legs with hairs at various lengths and none were removed so, sadly, it’s not for me.
- No! No! Pro 3 Hair Removal Device, £179.00 from officialnono.co.uk – buy now
At-home IPL device promising to permanently reduce more hair in less time. Comes with eye protection and features eight different settings as well as an automatic feature. It was really user-friendly, simply glide the device over the area and it will flash every three seconds to stunt hair growth. Hairs were noticeably finer after four weeks. My favourite! Not suitable for white, grey or red hair, unfortunately.
- Bondi, Laser @ Home, £198.00 from bondilaser.com – buy now
At-home hair removal device using eHPL (enhanced Home Pulsed Light) that works on all skin colours by widening pores and enabling light to penetrate deeper into the hair follicle. It has five energy levels and can be used once every four weeks. Tricky to zap hair the first time, but got the hang of it next time. Feels like a salon treatment. I noticed a reduction of hair growth on my legs after one use.
- Silk’n Infinity, £229.00 from currentbody.com – buy now
