MLB Announces Postponement of the Mets-Nationals Series
New York Mets fans will have to wait a little longer to see the $341 million man, Francisco Lindor, take the field in a regular-season game. According to Jon Heyman of the MLB Network, the league has decided to postpone their series with the Nationals this weekend.
The league first postponed Thursday’s Opening Day festivities after a positive COVID-19 test in the Nationals organization. Contract tracing then led to multiple individuals having to go into quarantine, and now more follow-up tests will be required before Washington can resume team activities.
Washington was scheduled to begin a three-game series with Atlanta on Monday, but it’s unclear whether those games will be played as scheduled. The Mets will now begin their series in Philadelphia against the Phillies on Monday.
