The Atlanta Hawks will be without two significant contributors when they take the floor against the Pelicans on Friday. Trae Young and Danilo Gallinari will sit out in a game looking like more the Back-up Bowl as New Orleans will be missing nearly their entire starting lineup as well. Young is dealing with some left knee soreness after buckling his knee twice last night in the Hawks win over San Antonio. Gallinari will sit with left Achilles soreness after playing 36 minutes off the bench on Thursday, scoring 16 and pulling down 12 rebounds. The benchings are more maintenance than injuries, as Head Coach Nate McMillan mentioned after the game that he would rest a couple of players on the second night of their back-to-back. The total at the FanDuel Sportsbook has plummeted since, in addition to Atlanta’s absences Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart, four starters, will also sit this one out.
With Young and Gallinari getting a night off, there are some interesting potential adds at FanDuel. Kevin Huerter, who can be grabbed for $5000, should get the start and get a major boost after playing just 16 minutes last night. Lou Williams should also get an uptick in minutes and looks as he may be Atlanta’s best scoring option on this night. Williams can be nabbed for just $4800, while Bogdan Bogdanovic, coming off a big 28-point effort last night, should also get plenty of shots and is in the same range at $5500 as his two teammates.
