We are looking forward to seeing you all back at the track tomorrow. If you haven’t seen the weather forecast, it is getting cold again, the temperature is forecast at 5 or 6 degrees but the north wind out on the field and track will make it feel like a much chillier 2 or 3, so please ensure riders wrap up warm with plenty of layers, full fingered gloves, long tights/leggings. And of course bring a drink and snack.
Inner Ring, please arrive circa 08:45 for 09:00 start. Bike checks will be done on the field in small groups, so please don’t congregate at the entrance, riders should just sign-on with Daisy and Andy and then keep warm by going straight on and doing some easy laps.
Parents, if you are able to volunteer tomorrow we have two roles that we would really appreciate help with:
- Perimeter marshals who can don a hi-viz jacket and act as friendly marshals around the perimeter to deter potential fence jumpers who might want to use the track and field for their own activities, which will allow the coaches to focus all their attention on running safe and fun skills sessions for the riders. If you volunteer for this, remember to wrap up warm too!
- Track sweepers at the start of Inner Ring who can help clear glass (mainly from the home straight) following this weeks unruly teenagers down at the track!
Please just let Andy and Daisy know at sign-on if you can help, and collect either a hi-viz jacket or a brush, any help would be hugely appreciated!
Outer Ring, it’s track bikes only so no need to bring your road bike, but do bring your road pedals if you want to swap them onto the track bike. We have plenty of track bikes to loan, please arrive from 10am to get your bike and pedals sorted, all loan bikes will be on the grass so do NOT visit the containers to look for a bike. Coach Paul Wheller will be organising the bike loans, please be patient to wait your turn for bike sizing. All parents and riders, please do remind yourself of the covid safety procedures we will be following: http://www.ppycc.org.uk/news/covid-safety-at-saturday-sessions/
We’re all looking forward to seeing you all again tomorrow, it will lovely to have everyone back on their bikes and riding with friends again!
