Boy, 13, among 10 children reported missing in London in the past month
A 13-year-old boy last seen at his home is one of 10 children to have gone missing in London over the past month.
Keiran Campbell disappeared in Lewisham, southeast London, on March 5, the same day missing woman Sarah Everard, 33, was last seen in Clapham, in the city’s south-west.
Londoners took to social media to call for increased efforts to locate Keiran and others after the search for Ms Everard prompted a flurry of attention unusual for missing persons cases.
Police investigating Keiran’s whereabouts said he was last seen wearing black trackies, blue Nike trainers and a blue and grey coat, and had links to the nearby boroughs of Lambeth and Wandsworth.
Detective Constable Louise Mayhook said officers are ‘concerned for Keiran’s welfare’ and urged anyone who knows where he might be to call 101 providing the reference 21MIS006151.
Police have also issued an urgent appeal for help finding Ella Clancy, 16, who went missing in Ealing, west London, on Thursday (March 4).
They said she was wearing a red jacket, black jeans and trainers and is known to frequent Ickenham and Hillingdon. The 101 reference for Ella’s case is 5836/04MAR.
Three boys across the capital were separately reported missing on February 18, including 15-year-olds Kaiyon Scott (Missing People Reference 21-00057) and Rijkaard Wright, who both disappeared in Uxbridge, west London.
The Met said it was concerned for Rijkaard’s welfare and urged anyone with information to call 101 using reference 21MIS003672, adding that he has links to Edgware, Barnet, Wembley and Sudbury.
The other is 16-year-old Tommy Smith, who went missing in Morden, south London (Missing People reference 20-000084).
Arber Axhami, 16, was reported missing in Enfield, north London, exactly one month ago. The Missing People charity urged anyone with information to contact them using reference 21-000565.
Trevale Dwyer, 17, was reported missing from South Norwood, south London, on February 22 (Missing People reference 21-000733).
Police are also investigating the whereabouts of Tuan Le, 15, who was reported missing from Hampton on February 27 (101 reference 21MIS005656).
Gabriel Silvera, 16, was reported missing from Barnet, north London, on the same date (101 reference 20MIS005700).
Abubakar Mohammed, 15, was reported missing last Wednesday (March 3) and was also last seen in Lewisham (Missing People using reference 21-000872).
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the ‘seriousness or risk in each case is normally the determining factor’ in whether officers puts out a direct appeal in addition to Missing People.
The Met has said the investigation into Ms Everard’s whereabouts is now being led by their Specialist Crime Command due to the ‘complex nature’ of the case, and that specialist officers had been drafted in from across the force.
Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin said officers had spoken to hundreds of people and reviewed hours of CCTV footage covering the path the 33-year-old is thought to have walked from a friend’s house towards her house in Brixton.
DCI Goodwin added: ‘This is definitely a missing persons investigation at the moment but I remain open minded as to all possibilities in the investigation.
