Leeds United Chat • Re: After Leeds
I think thats basically it.We were commenting on this during the Villa game tonight.
Every manager seems to have their team wound up to the nth degree when they are heading out to face Leeds under Bielsa. I think they are genuinely afraid that they could get a real beating if all 11 don’t run their guts out against us.
As a result they are more focused than they would often be, they run harder and further than normal and it’s virtually treated as a cup final. The fact that they aren’t fit enough to this week in, week out, means that the price is paid in the next game, or two, or three!
Teams tend to have to run more against us than usual.
They have to track runners more they have a player following them man for man all the time it must be exhausting both mentally and physically.
Some teams can cope although they tend to simply be the better teams (Liverpool, City and Leicester (×2) represent 4 of the 6 times a team has won after playing us)
But the majority are exhausted and struggle hence only managing to draw or lose.
