Anthony Davis Out Friday, LeBron James Probable
Brad Turner provided an update on Thursday about the Los Angeles Lakers’ injury statuses for their Friday night game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Anthony Davis remains out, but LeBron James, Kyle Kuzma, Markieff Morris, and Dennis Schroder are all expected to play after resolving their respective issues.
The Lakers have lost five of six since Davis went down with an Achilles injury, and scoring has plummeted. LeBron and Co. are averaging 103.5 points per game, which is a long way off their season average of 111.5. LA is fresh off a 114-89 beat down at the hands of the NBA-leading Utah Jazz.
James has been unimpressive in two of his last three, posting below-average FanDuel Fantasy Points. Kuzma has stepped up his production recently, but Morris hasn’t provided the back-up relief needed for the Lakers to be competitive. That could mean more minutes for Kuzma as the Lakers fight to get back in the win column.
LeBron has the highest salary on the DFS slate Friday night at $10,500, and Kuzma carries a $5,700 salary against one of the more porous defenses in the league.
The betting market at FanDuel Sportsbook implies that the Lakers should get past the Trail Blazers, as they are currently -5 on the point spread and -215 on the moneyline.
