The Spurs loanee has started two League One games in a row for Ipswich, where he is spending the remainder of this season on loan.
Although he is yet to open his account for the Tractor Boys, Parrott has caught the eye of his boss Paul Lambert and is increasingly earning his trust, having come close to his first strike in Ipswich colours in a 2-1 league loss away at Peterborough United on Tuesday.
The 19-year-old revealed he always goes into games feeling confident that he is going to get on the scoresheet that day, which in his view is essential to a striker’s game.
Ipswich are up against an in-from Shrewsbury in the league today and Parrott, who is looking forward to the game, stressed the need for his team to also enter the clash with a positive mindset.
“I’m always confident that I can score and I always go into games with that confidence, you have to”, Parrott told Ipswich’s official site.
“I had that chance at the end on Tuesday – it came at me quickly but I managed to keep it down and it was a good stop from the ‘keeper.
“Hopefully the first goal comes soon and I can do a good job for the team.
“I’m looking forward to tomorrow and I know Shrewsbury have picked up a bit of form so they’ll be confident, but we have to be as well.”
The Spurs loanee will be eyeing registering his first goal for Ipswich at Montgomery Water Meadows at the weekend, having started life in Suffolk on a bright note.
