MW Motorsport confirms expanded four-car Super2 line-up for 2021

Champion Supercars team MW Motorsport will enter a strong four-car line-up for the 2021 Dunlop Super2 Series.

Jayden Ojeda will return to the team for his second season, joined by Josh Fife, Declan Fraser and MWM returnee Tyler Everingham.

All four drivers will compete in Nissan Altima Supercars and will aim to secure an unprecedented three-peat for a Super2 Series team.

And the squad is wasting no time getting prepared for the 2021, with all four drivers testing at Winton Motor Raceway today and tomorrow ahead of the opening round at the world-famous Mount Panorama circuit at Bathurst.

2020 rookie of the year Ojeda will compete in the Jayco #31 Altima sporting support from Sparesbox.

This year marks Ojeda’s third season in Supercars competition, having finished second in the 2019 Super3 Series before finishing as the top rookie in last year’s Super2 Series.

Josh Fife will contest his second Super2 Series, having claimed 10th overall with Brad Jones Racing in last year’s short three round title. He will compete with backing from .. .. and will carry the #28

Declan Fraser steps into the #777 Altima after making his Supercars debut in the Super3 class last year. The Queenslander will carry support from Oz Property Investment Centre.

Tyler Everingham returns to MW Motorsport after he made his Supercars debut with the team in the 2018 Super 3 Series where he finished first overall and then 5th in the Super 2 in 2019. Everingham will drive the #27 Altima with sponsorship from Lowes Petroleum and Blue Ribbon Legal.

MW Motorsport is aiming to claim its fifth Super2 title in 2021, having won the last two series titles with Bryce Fullwood (2019) and Thomas Randle (2020). The Melbourne team’s other two titles came in with Jonathon Webb (2009) and Dale Wood (2013).

The 2021 Dunlop Super2 Series will be held over six rounds, starting at Bathurst on February 26-28.

Matthew White
Owner, MW Motorsport

“It’s fantastic to lock away our driver line-up in an expanded effort for the 2021 Super2 Series,” said White.

“All four drivers are young, keen and very talented in their own right. The current Super2 field looks very competitive, so we are looking forward to the challenge of racing against a tough field.

“Running the four Altimas in the same class really makes sense for our team. We haven’t done this before, but consolidating all of our energies into the same type of cars in the same class was important for us. It means we’ll have a large amount of data for our drivers and team to work from. Last year, we had three Altimas in Super2 and a Falcon in Super3, and while we were able to do it successfully, it did present some hurdles. This year, we’ll be very well placed.

“Starting the season at Mount Panorama is an excellent opportunity for our drivers. We’ve had some great success at Bathurst in the past, and with the two-day test at Winton under our belts, our team is confident that we’ll be ready to take the fight to the field.”
