Japanese Youth title bout cancelled!
11
Earlier today Boxmob reported that the scheduled Japanese Youth title bout had been cancelled.
The bout in question was the scheduled Japanese Youth Bantamweight title, between defending champion Toshiya Ishii (3-1, 2) [石井渡士也] and fellow youngster Kaito Takeshima (6-3-1, 1) [竹嶋海刀], which was scheduled for March 11th on an Ohashi promoted show.
Sadly the reason for cancellation has been put down to Takeshima's health and physical condition though no other details were reported in regards to what health issues Takeshima had.
Given this news we wish Takeshima a speedy recovery from whatever the issues are, and hope that it won't be too much longer until we see Ishii back in the ring, as he looks to bounce back from a 2020 loss to former world title challenger Sho Ishida (29-2, 15) [石田 匠].
Despite this cancellation the card is still a stacked one including a brilliant match up between Taku Kuwahara (7-0, 4) [桑原拓] and Yoshiki Minato (9-3, 4) [湊義生], the debut of Yoshiki Takei (0-0) [武居由樹], the return to a Japanese ring for Andy Hiraoka (16-0, 11) [平岡アンディ], following successive bouts in the US, and a Japanese youth Welterweight title bout between Rikuto Adachi (14-2, 11) [安達陸仁] and Takeru Kobata (8-5-1, 3) [小畑武尊].
