Clive Davis Taps Keith Urban, Cher, Sia & More for Pre-Grammy Virtual Events
Clive Davis has, for years, posted up inside the Beverly Hilton ballroom to host his star-packed, pre-Grammy Awards gala. And the pandemic hasn’t squashed the music icon’s A-list affair; instead, he doubled it, thanks to COVID-19-friendly virtual formats.
As reported today by Page Six, Davis will host two events, with the first on the calendar for this weekend, Jan. 30, and a second to be held March 13, a traditional evening-before spot ahead of the Grammys (rescheduled for March 14 from Jan. 31 due to COVID-19 concerns). The first installment will find Davis reminiscing with artists, presenting a curated list of the greatest live performances of all time and debuting never-before-seen footage. The list of performances is being kept secret and saved for unveiling during the show.
He’s rounded up Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Sean Combs, Jamie Foxx, Alicia Keys, Barry Gibb, Earth Wind & Fire, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson and John Legend.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Cher, Casey Affleck, Stacey Abrams, Candace Bushnell, Sia, Timbaland and Ludacris are expected to attend as guests. Other RSVPs include longtime friend Nancy Pelosi, Cardi B, Offset, Quincy Jones, Megan Thee Stallion, Cyndi Lauper and H.E.R. Surprise moments and more talent confirmations are expected.
The first event will serve as a benefit for MusiCares and the March 13 gathering will benefit the Grammy Museum.
