Cal comes up short in Bradley’s return
Freshman Evan Mobley scored 17 of his season-high 25 points in the second half, Tahj Eaddy added 18 points and USC beat California 76-68 in Berkeley.
Mobley made 12 of 15 from the free-throw line and also had eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks for the Trojans (12-3, 6-2 Pac-12) .
Grant Antecevich and Joel Brown led Cal (7-10, 2-8) with 15 points apiece. Matt Bradley, who went into the game averaging a team-high 17.8 points, had 11 points on 5-of-14 shooting in 24 minutes. The 6-foot-4 junior returned after missing the last five games, and seven of the last nine, due to ankle injuries.
San Jose State 83, New Mexico 71: Five players scored in double figures for the Spartans (3-11, 1-9 Mountain West) to grab the team’s first conference win against the host Lobos (5-9, 1-9).
Santa Clara 72, Loyola Marymount 69: Josip Vrankic had 24 points and 12 rebounds as the Broncos (9-4, 3-2 WCC) edged past the host Lions (7-6, 2-3). Jalen Williams had 18 points for Santa Clara. Guglielmo Caruso added 13 points and three blocks.
Oregon St. 75, #21 Oregon 64: Ethan Thompson scored 19 points and Abdul Alatishe added 14 as the Beavers (8-5, 4-3 Pac-12) beat the visiting Ducks (9-3, 4-2).
Colorado 70, Washington State 59: Evan Battey had 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, McKinley Wright IV added all 12 of his points in the second half, and the visiting Buffaloes (12-4, 6-3 Pac 12) rallied from an 18-point first-half deficit to beat the Cougars (9-6, 2-6).
