Maidstone United vs. Dorking Wanderers
The Stones are back at the Gallagher Stadium for the first time since 19 December this afternoon when they host Dorking Wanderers in the Buildbase FA Trophy.
Maidstone’s last game at home was in this competition. They beat Poole Town of the Southern Premier League 2-0. Gavin Hoyte opened the scoring on 61 minutes with his first goal of the season before substitute Ibrahim Olutade made sure of the win one minute from time.
Having beaten Poole, the Stones were due to play Frome Town in the third round of the FA Trophy but with Frome asking for a postponement due to COVID related issues, Maidstone were awarded a place in the next round.
The Stones have met Dorking relatively recently in the league. The two sides took part in a 2-2 draw on 1 December with Maidstone coming from two down late on to take a point. Wanderers are enjoying a good season and are currently in second position in the league, two points behind Dartford with a game in hand.
Dorking reached this stage of the competition with victory over Hungerford in the second round. Then in the third round, they came up against National League opposition in the form of Barnet but the Wanderers won 3-1.
