Another disappointing effort from Powell. If he’s not coming off a pindown or having a play run for him, he can get lost offensively. Defensively, he keeps committed ill-advised fouls, which was a big part of the reason that the Raptors couldn’t get any defensive momentum this game until late. A -10 on the night in a one-point game in which he started isn’t good. |

It was a classic Kyle Lowry fourth-quarter performance until it wasn’t. Lowry was great for most of the fourth quarter, leading the Raptors in the comeback. Unfortunately, his foul on Damien Lee late in the game was just really silly. He had no reason for Lowry to put his hands on him like that, and it cost the Raptors the game. |

Wowaweewaa. It looks like Fred has taken another significant step. His finish at the rim was brilliant against the Warriors, and if he can do that all season, his contract is going to look extremely team-friendly. Plus, he has Steph Curry in prison, reciting bible versss to the heavens before he goes to sleep on (and before) nights like these. |

Boucher has been a real bright spot on the season. Their fourth or fifth best player so far, he recorded 6 (or 7) blocks and was also great on the offensive boards. I don’t mind him not starting because he gets into foul trouble and is a high-usage player that works better in bench units. Give him credit for not fouling out despite being at five fouls for most of the fourth quarter. |

Nick Nurse
Good gameplan on Steph. The Raptors under Nurse will rarely let a superstar beat them, instead asking role players to make decisions with the ball. The Warriors’ role players were great in the first half but stopped making shots in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late from the Raptors. Curious why Matt Thomas isn’t getting any run in a game when the Raptors needed points. |

Things We Saw
- The bench is really not good. Boucher is solid, and Powell is good offensively if he eventually goes back there, but the Raptors need to find a couple more two way players who can make a difference. Maybe it’s Yuta, Stanley, Malachi, Matt, or Aron Baynes.
- The Raptors defense really picked things up late, and were good overall tonight. Playing small seems to fit this group best, especially when Boucher is in there blocking everything. It will be interesting to see how much run Baynes and Len get this season, especially against teams without a post-up threat.
- The transition offense is a problem for the Raptors this season, and their transition defense was also bad in the first half. The Raptors need to do better matching up in transition defense, especially against a team that likes to run as much as the Warriors. Offensively, people just aren’t running their lanes and it kills the spacing, leading to a lot of resets.
