Musashi Mori Vs Satoshi Shimizu set for March 21st!
Yesterday at Korakuen Hall WBO Asia Pacific Featherweight champion Musashi Mori (12-0, 7) [森 武蔵] recorded his third defense as he scored an 11th round TKO victory over Tsuyoshi Tameda (21-6-2, 19) [溜田剛士] at Korakuen Hall, in Tokyo.
Today Mori was back in the ring, in his home of Aichi Prefecture, where he was given chance to speak to the audience at the "Splendid Boxing" show at the Aioi Hall in Kariya.
It was there that Mori announced his next bout.
It was revealed by Mori that he will be back in the ring on March 21st to face OPBF Featherweight champion Satoshi Shimizu (9-1, 9) [清水 聡] in a return to Korakuen Hall, in a bout between two of the leading Japanese fighters in the talent laden Featherweight division.
At the moment the full details haven't been confirmed, though it appears the bout will be to unify the two regional titles. If that is the case it'll be Mori's 4th defense of the WBO Asia Pacific crown and Shimizu's 6th defense of the OPBF belt.
Interestingly Shimizu and Tameda, the man Mori beat this weekend, are both from the Ohashi Gym and that little bit of history would, potentially help add an extra layer to this bout, which already sells it's self.
Fingers crossed the promoter officially announced the show in the coming days, along with some of the under-card, for what promises to be an excellent main event.
