Ex-Cuomo aide slams governor as ‘snarling attack dog’ who is ‘milking’ pandemic following his book release & Emmy win
AN EX-Cuomo aide slammed the governor as a “snarling attack dog” who is “milking” the pandemic following his book release and Emmy win.
Alexis Grenell, Cuomo’s former deputy director of intergovernmental affairs, published a scathing column in The Nation titled “The Collapse of the Cuomosexual.”
The former aide slammed Cuomo[/caption]“The Andrew Cuomo New Yorkers know and mostly tolerate, the snarling attack dog who gaslights fellow Democrats and deploys staff to call his female critics ‘f**kg idiots,” dropped down to Earth last week. It was a hard landing after a long-distance love affair with a fanbase in a galaxy far, far away,” Grenell wrote.
She then went on to slam the governor for his release of his book, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
“St. Andrew, our savior of the spring, is now milking his 15 minutes of fame for an extra 30,” Grenell wrote.
“The book is an undignified victory lap by the facts-first persona that won him legitimate praise to begin with, underscoring the point that for Cuomo it was always more about presentation than substance.”
Alexis Grenell was Cuomo’s former deputy director of intergovernmental affairs[/caption]Grenell further struck out at Cuomo, noting his Emmy Award win for his press conferences during the coronavirus pandemic.
She described it as “genuinely depressing” that the governor is “so eager to be flattered by Ben Stiller,” who congratulated him for the award.
“It’s almost hard to remember how he ridiculed two-time Emmy Award–winner Cynthia Nixon back in 2018 for being an unqualified celebrity.
“Turns out he just wanted to trade places all along.”
Cuomo has been under fire since the beginning of the pandemic[/caption]“The self-described ‘cool dude in a loose mood,’ threw a Trump-style tantrum,” she said.
She went on to suggest that Cuomo is “more about presentation than substance.
“It’s why he and his staff reflexively insult anyone who criticizes his handling of the pandemic or insists on returning to the normal system of democratic governance as Jefferson envisioned it,” she said.
Asked about Grenell’s comments, Cuomo’s senior adviser Richard Azzopardi told the New York Post: “We’re focused on the pandemic, not the musings of brand-building political consultants.
“Everyone has a right to an opinion as consistently wrong as they may be.”
Cuomo has recently been blasted on social media over his gushing Emmy award speech with some even declaring he “should be in jail.”
