Coronation Street’s Colson Smith ‘petrified’ to leave home after neighbours blast him as an ‘inconsiderate a******e’
CORONATION Street star Colson Smith’s furious neighbours have labelled him an ‘inconsiderate a*****e’ for not recycling properly, leaving him ‘petrified’ to walk around his flat complex.
The soap actor, who lives with cobbles co-star Ben Price, now keeps his head down when he gets into the lift after causing carnage for the complex.

Speaking on the Sofa Cinema Club podcast, Colson, 22, said: “My delivery boxes I get every week I can’t recycle because they’ve got polystyrene and ice packs in.
“I just chuck it all into one big box, recycle the other, but chuck everything else into one big box and put that in the bin.”
Ben, 48, joked Colson’s box is the size “of another flat”.

“By the bins we saw two empty boxes that weren’t in the recycling bin and I said, ‘Ben, they’re my boxes.’
“Somebody had fished all my rubbish out of the boxes and left the boxes. I genuinely, hand on heart, didn’t realise I was doing something wrong.
“I think someone was peed off that it should’ve been put in the recycling bin.
The actor is best known for playing Craig Tinker [/caption] He shared: ‘I feel like knocking on everyone’s door and apologising’[/caption]“I’d filled up the cardboard box with rubbish and used the box itself as a bin and then chucked it in the bin. I thought it was [acceptable].”
The star went on: “But now the recycling bins have been locked down so you can only put it in through the little post box, and there’s a post on Facebook of somebody ranting about the ‘inconsiderate a***e that’s ruined it for everyone else’. That’s me.
“My mum said I should do what I did this week – basically use two black bin bags. I had to put all the polystyrene balls in one bag, all the side pieces and ice packs in one pack, and fold the boxes down.
“I’m basically walking around the flat now, from the minute I get in the lift to the minute I get out, keeping my head down. I’m petrified.”
The Corrie star appears on his podcast alongside Jack P Shepherd [/caption] Colson has stunned fans with his weight loss in recent months[/caption]The pair also had an embarrassing incident while heading down to the recycling bins after the concierge had asked them to sort out the recycling.
Colson explained: “We got into the lift to go to the car park. I don’t like touching the buttons because of Covid, so I went to press car park with the cardboard and accidentally pressed reception.
“The lift doors open and the concierge is looking right at us. Our hands were full of recycling.”
Ben added: “We can’t literally get out of the lift we’ve got that much cardboard. Colson, embarrassed, faces away. The concierge goes, ‘Thanks lads.’ Absolute cringe.”

The actor previously joked he’d lost ten stone during lockdown and would have to wear a fat suit when filming for Corrie resumed.
Speaking on his podcast, he said: “We are in direct continuity, but I’ve almost lost about ten stone since we left work so I’m not sure that [my hair] is going to be the biggest of their issues.
“I might be wearing a wig and a fat suit when we go back.”
