The US Secretary of State said the West could not cooperate with Russia and insulted Putin
Anthony Blinken, who was promoted to the post of US Secretary of State, stated that it was impossible for the West to cooperate with Russia, and also insulted President Vladimir Putin twice during the interview, TV anchor Olga Skabeyeva said on her Telegram Channel by publishing relevant excerpts.
Speaking about US President Barack Obama’s talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the future US Secretary of State said that the Russian leader is an extremely calm person who can say tough things but is never annoyed. He is similar to Obama in this, according to Blinken. However, immediately after that the future head of American diplomacy turned to insults.
“Putin says lies after lies and tries to mislead. But he does it easily – like breathing”, – Blinken said.
He also considers it a major mistake for the US to try to cooperate with Russia. According to Blinken, cooperation between Russia and the West is impossible because of Putin, who he also called a kleptocrat.
“We certainly do not expect a breakthrough in Russian-American relations”, – Skabeyeva evaluated the interview.
