McDonald’s launches Christmas menu today including the DOUBLE Big Mac

MCDONALD’S is launching its Christmas menu today – and it includes a DOUBLE Big Mac and Celebrations McFlurry.

The double Big Mac has a whopping four patties instead of the usual two, as well as cheese, lettuce, onions and Big Mac sauce.

One of these mammoth burgers will cost you £4.19 for a single sandwich, or £5.69 for a meal with a side and drink.

It’s the first time the double Big Mac has been launched in the UK, although it appeared on US menus earlier this year.

However, there has previously been a Mega Mac – which also had four patties – although McDonald’s says its double Big Mac is a different product.

The double Big Mac is the biggest burger McDonald’s has ever sold, followed by the triple cheeseburger.

McDonald's Christmas menu 2020

HERE'S what McDonald's has in store for its Christmas menu 2020, available from November 18 to December 29:

  • Double Big Mac (£4.19 single, £5.69 as a meal)
  • Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich (£4.39 single, £5.69 as a meal)
  • Cheese melt dippers (£1.79)
  • Cheese melt dippers sharebox (£4.79)
  • Celebrations McFlurry mini (99p)
  • Celebrations McFlurry (£1.39)
  • Salted caramel latte (£1.69)

Also new to the festive menu is a Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich, which contains two pieces of crispy chicken with a spicy jerk sauce, bacon, pepper jack cheese, onion and lettuce in a sourdough bun.

This costs £4.39 for a single sandwich, or £5.69 as part of a meal.

For afters, McDonald’s is launching a new Celebrations McFlurry – available in mini size for 99p or regular size for £1.39 – which has pieces of Maltesers, Galaxy, Mars, Twix and a caramel sauce.

And returning to the menu is McDonald’s cheese melt dippers, which are priced at £1.79 for four dippers, or £4.79 for a sharebox.

The fast food chain will also keep its new salted caramel latte on the menu, priced at £1.69.

The festive menu from McDonald’s starts today and will last six weeks, until December 29.

However, you’ll want to keep in mind that a double Big Mac packs 694 calories and the Jamaican jerk chicken sandwich has 564 calories.

In the UK, men are recommended to consume no more than 2,500 calories, while it’s 2,000 for women.

In line with government guideline, McDonald’s restaurants remain closed for dine-in customers.

However, you can still order food for takeaway, click and collect or delivery.

Delivery from McDonald’s is available through Just Eat or Uber Eats, depending on your area – but keep in mind you’ll pay extra for delivery.

Click and collect is free and done through the My McDonald’s app.

If you’re already feeling festive thanks to Maccies’ Christmas menu, see where your nearest McDonald’s is by using the online finder tool.

McDonald’s has around 1,300 restaurants in the UK.

The Christmas menu means McDonald’s had to say goodbye to limited edition burgers including the spicy quarter pounder.

Also new to McDonald’s is a free cheeseburger offer for new members of its app.

We’ve rounded up a full list of food chains that are offering takeaway and delivery in the second lockdown.
