The Unesco chair in the field of lifelong learning established at Frederick University
After a thorough evaluation process, Unesco has established its chair in the field of lifelong learning and adult education at Frederick University under the direction of the rector of Frederick University professor Giorgos Demosthenous.
The establishment of the chair will take place during a special ceremony to be announced later.
Key issues of the purpose of establishing the Chair are: The mapping of the policy and strategy of the countries participating in lifelong learning and adult education, the study of lifelong learning and adult education activities in South and Southeast Asia, in relation to the respective practices applied in the countries of the European Union, with the aim of providing know-how and developing good research practices, as well as the transfer of knowledge, values, skills and competences in educational methods.
Participating universities will disseminate the results, concerning the new practices and the renewed curricula as well as to raise the awareness of public and private institutions and companies for the benefits of lifelong learning.
