Duke-Wake Forest Off
It may be rescheduled, but it’s unlikely
On Monday and Tuesday, Duke coach David Cutcliffe and Duke senior defensive end Victor Dimukeje and junior wide receiver Jake Bobo met with the media to discuss Duke’s upcoming game with Wake Forest.
And on Wednesday?
The Wake Forest game was canceled.
Turns out the Demon Deacons have had a Covid-19 outbreak and the game therefore has been canceled. Wake Forest said a reschedule would be attempted but realistically it probably won't happen.
Duke therefore is now off until the Saturday after Thanksgiving - November 28th - when the Blue Devils will face Georgia Tech.
Wake Forest has had a decent season so far and in particular a potent offense. As UNC found out last weekend, stopping them isn’t easy - the game ended with 112 points on the board and the Tar Heels winning by just six.
It would have been an interesting game but we’ll just have to get over it. Lots of people are having much worse problems than just missing a football game.
